Smart Technology, Small Footprint
For tailwheel or other light aircraft
The Alpha Series punches above its weight class by running the same Torq Sense and Auto Throttle technology found across the entire Best Tugs lineup. Torq Sense continuously monitors torque on the nose gear; Auto Throttle uses that data to adjust power output in real time, protecting the gear on every tow.
Alpha’s compact dragger-style platform carries less weight on the wheels than our larger tugs, which makes it a natural fit for tailwheel and light sport aircraft. For heavier singles, users can add a little downward pressure to give the wheels the traction they need. It’s a simple technique, and it’s why Alpha shines brightest on tailwheels and light sport aircraft rather than heavier platforms.
Intelligent Ground Handling. Every Move.
The smart technology behind every Tug model is designed to protect aircraft, operators, and your operation from the first move to the last.
Torq Sense — Built In Protection
Not a warning system. A prevention system.
Torq Sense continuously monitors torque on the nose gear in real time. Auto Throttle uses that data to automatically adjust power output, protecting the gear whether you’re starting from a stop or rolling into a turn. It’s the same system that runs on every Best Tugs product, scaled to fit the Alpha platform.
Pivoting Front End
Precise and reliable movements from day one
Where a traditional dragger tug forces you to lift and reposition for every turn, Alpha’s pivoting front end lets the tug rotate in place. The Alpha’s pivoting arms act similar to pulling or backing in a trailer and the wheels never have to leave the ground. Less strain on the operator, less strain on the aircraft.
Built for the Ramp.
Engineered for the Long Haul.
Purpose-built commercial grade ground support equipment built in Spanish Fork, Utah. Designed by pilots who understand aircraft movement.
Compact Intelligence for Lighter Aircraft
